Yesterday marked a special occasion in the Sale Diocese calendar, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Major Feast Day (15th November). This feast Day is special for the Sale Diocese, as it is the name of our cathedral (St Mary’s), or the spiritual home, of the diocese. The Jerusalem Community (Year 1) celebrated Mass on Wednesday with this feast as the theme.
St Thomas the Apostle Primary School, as part of the St Thomas the Apostle Parish, belongs to a large family called the Sale Diocese. The Sale Diocese stretches from Cranbourne all the way to Orbost. It covers this area of Victoria mostly encompassing the Gippsland portion of our state.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, is often called upon to intercede for us, as she is recognised as having the motherly quality of listening to her children – us! Catholics will often pray to God, through Mary, with peace intentions. And this was very much the theme of the Mass on Wednesday.

Jericho Mass time change:
Next week, the Jericho Community (Year 4) will be taking part in a prayer service in the church, at 10:00am, instead of the usual Mass time. The Parish Mass on this day (22nd November) has been shifted to 8:00am for this day. Any parents of year 4 students who wanted to attend, are welcome to come at 10:00am instead of the normal 9:30am time slot.
