Principal's Message
Welcome 2021 students and families
We are excited to begin our 2021 year back together. Our students are now in level communities and have settled quickly back into the routines of school. The teachers loved seeing the happy smiles and excited stories about great holidays and adventures.
As we begin our 2021 year we express our thanksgiving to our school and parish community who support and nuture us. Fr Denis and our Religious Education Leader Mr Andrew McDermott will begin preparing families for celebrating the Sacraments this year. Please see elsewhere in this newsletter for information about the opportunity for your child to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
During 2020 the school undertook a 4 yearly School Review process. As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the outcomes for our students we developed a Strategic Intent to drive our work from 2021 to 2024.
The Strategic Intent
- Every child is known and connected to their community
- Every child is safe and can engage in learning
- Every child experiences explicit teaching at their identified point of need
Our school improvement work during this year will be based around these three points.
School structures for 2021
Students belong to a class and that class is part of a community. Each community has a Learning and Teaching leader who is not in the classroom. This person is leading the classroom teaching in improving teaching practice, developing skill in meeting a range of additional needs, supervising learning adjustment and the implementation of our Child Safe and Wellbeing structures. If you have any questions about classroom life please email your child's teacher. If you have a concern that includes wellbeing or learning needs please email both the child's teacher and the Learning and Teaching leader. Each community has supplied information about email contact and will continue to do so periodically.
We look forward to an exciting start to our year. It has been lovely to see how mature and settled our new Foundation students are.
