Dear Parents,
During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are aware of the many difficulties young people and their families are experiencing.
This 7 minute ABC interview with Dr. Anthea Rhodes of the Royal Children's hospital talks about signs to look for if children are feeling and or struggling through lockdown.
Some of the changes in behaviour may look like;
- being more withdrawn than usual
- overreacting to things
- melting down or lashing out
She reminds us that children's behaviour is communication and they are unlikely to sit down and talk with us about feeling overwhelmed and includes some great short term advice for parents .
