Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

My prayers and thoughts are with you all as you find a way to make the most of our new situation. Work permits, road blocks and closed borders are new to many of us. For others they will be a return to experiences that were hoped to be gone. Together we will ensure that our vulnerable, elderly and lonely are supported and protected. My thanks to all those parents who work in essential services; you do an amazing job and are valued by us all.

As part of the increased restrictions we have had to slightly change the categories for children attending school for on-site supervision of their learning. Please read the reasons carefully before requesting that your child attend on-site. We are expecting further direction from the government, the Department of Education and DOSCEL (our governing body). We apologise in advance for the changes that have happened and are likely to continue to happen.

PUPIL FREE DAY - cancelled

Our planned Pupil Free Day on August 10th has been cancelled. Students will be able to access remote learning as normal on that day. Some of these days may be taken later in the year.

CAMP AUSTRALIA

The rapid growth of the school is continuing and therefore due to a reduction in available space we are not able to continue to host Camp Australia in 2021. We thank the wonderful team at Camp Australia and look forward to a time in the future when the enrolments reduce a little and our facilities increase so that we can once again offer before and after school care. There are a number of other facilities locally that offer before and after school to support those families requiring this service.

During this challenging time in teaching and learning our staff and students continue to develop skills and knowledge in so many different and unexpected ways. I have enjoyed hearing teachers learning how to record voices for feedback and instructions, their joy at seeing the children in their class participating in Google Meets, discuss new skills and ideas and be prepared to take risks with their teaching approaches. The students are responding well to the new opportunities and giving great feedback to help the teachers improve.

I wish you and your family a blessed week and want you to remember that
