REMINDER
SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY - Monday 28th NovemberDear families,
It's unbelievable to think that we are already nearly at the end of November and about to begin the beautiful season of advent.
This week the teachers have commenced the process of arranging classes for 2023. They have also begun to plan activities for transition day to welcome the students into the new class groups.
After interviewing several children across the school, the main themes that they talked about was getting to meet their new teacher and to do some team based activities with the children that will be in their new class.
As you will know transitions in children's lives can feel big or small. It is our aim at St Thomas to make the transition between one year level and the next, as seamless as possible. The teachers have been planning some activities that will allow their students to get to know their new classmates, to better understand the new teacher and to set up some class expectations for 2023.
Transition day will take place on Monday, 5th December at 9:15 am. On this day the children will spend 90 minutes in the new classroom. Children joining St Thomas from other schools next year will also have the chance to come along and meet some new friends.
Please reassure your child that it is okay to feel nervous or to have some questions and wonderings when things are about to change, this is a normal feeling that even grown-ups suffer with. Chat to them in a positive way about other transitions they have had successfully.
If you have any specific questions about the process I would be happy to chat with you or you can drop me an email.
Kind regards
Sarah
