The Parish have now got the certificate of occupancy and are moving in! All scheduled Masses are now in the new church and some other special events are happening now in the new building too. This is such exciting news as this is something that has been in motion since 2012. It’s been a long wait.
The students and staff at St Thomas the Apostle have been eagerly awaiting the completion. The Community Masses will take on a whole new dimension, being in the new space. There is so much in the way of imagery and symbolism in the church that can enhance prayer – so much learning about our relationship with God. I am looking forward to being able to just visit on a regular basis and just take it all in.
Next term, we will have a Community Mass roster in place. Keep an eye out for communication that will come your way in regard to these special times, as parents will be able to participate with their child’s Community Mass. Masses are, by design, a community prayer and all are ‘welcome to the table’. Do consider coming along, whether you are Catholic or not.
As well as Masses, all of our sacraments will be celebrated (and prepared for) in the new church. Run your eye down to the Sacramental Schedule below for all the proposed dates in our Sacramental Program this year.

On Friday 17th March, St Thomas the Apostle Church received the Occupancy Permit to the building.
Fr Denis will be celebrating our inaugural Vigil Mass on Saturday 25th March at 6pm and Sunday 26th March at 9am & 10.45am and we would like you & your family to be part of it.
Please join us in this very joyous occasion! Weekday Mass times starting from 28th March is at 9.15am. All are welcomed.
Project Compassion
As week 8 ends tomorrow, now is a good time to remind everyone that we only have a couple of weeks to return our Project Compassion boxes. Do not worry at all if you think it’s not very full. Every little bit counts and even if its empty, we know that some people prefer to jump online to donate. The main thing is to return the box in whatever state it is in, so that we don’t have any loose ends. When a charity distributes this kind of thing it is good practice to ensure we don’t have boxes (even empty ones) lying around after the focus period. Our focus period is Lent and we should have all boxes returned by the end of the last week of term. Send the boxes with your child in their bag (if they are mature enough to pass it on to their teacher) or drop them off at the office.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the families that have supported Project Compassion this year. It is a very worthy cause and meaningful change occurs every year it runs.
