R U OK?
Today is R U OK? Day where we are asked to check in on our friends and collegues. Being open to the conversation around mental health, stress and unhappiness is very important. For each of us on any day the events of the world, our work and our personal life can bring happiness or sadness. Our internal resilience makes us more or less able to deal with these events. So at any time or any occasion we might be OK or not! It is OK to feel bad, stressed, unhappy; these feelings are valid. When we acknowledge and share our feelings we are then better placed to be able to make a decision about how we might think and behave in ways to improve our circumstances.
For those of us asking R U OK? we need to know what happens beyond that. A good guide is ALEC.
The acronym ALEC reminds us to:
- Ask
- Listen
- Encourage action
- Check in again
I hope you seeing the days grow in length, feeling the warmth in the sun and seeing signs of hope and life around you. May God speak into your hearts and you feel God's grace around you.
Blessings to you all
Kate
COVID School Event Cancellations
The following events have had to be cancelled in light of the roadmap restrictions.
School Photographs - we are unable to have school photographs booked and completed. Therefore we will be asking each child to have a head and shoulders photo taken in uniform at home to share with their class teacher. This way we can create a class collage for each child. More information will be sent out by class teachers next term.
Junior Swimming - the Junior swimming program has been cancelled due to restrictions around pool use. The swimming levy has been removed from your Fee Statements. For those families who have paid their fees in full, the swimming charge of $125 per student now sits in credit on your account for 2021.
We will update any further cancellations if necessary.
Pandemic Parenting – It’s OK to Do Less.
Pandemic parenting. It’s intense and surreal (and sometimes claustrophobic). There are so many new expectations on parents at the moment. Many of us are working from home, managing our own stresses in a new environment with more or less technical difficulties.
Justin Coulson who presented the online seminar on “Lightening the Lockdown Load” a few weeks back, has an important message regarding parenting during the pandemic and taking the pressure off. For some great quick tips click on the link below:

Thank you.
Have you been pouring out your heart for so many years?
Have you been hoping that things would have changed by now?
Have you cried all the faith you have through so many tears?
And remember He can do it all once more
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don't ever lose hope, hold on and believe
You're closer than you think you are
Only moments from the break of dawn
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet (oh)
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet (oh)
Maybe you just haven't seen it
He sees the best in you when you feel at your worst
So in the questioning, don't ever doubt His love for you
'Cause it's only in His love that you'll find a breakthrough, oh
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don't ever lose hope, hold on and believe
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet
You're closer than you think you are
Only moments from the break of dawn
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet (oh)
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet (yeah yeah, yeah yeah, oh)
Maybe you just haven't seen it
Hallelujah for the victory
Good things are coming even when we can't see
We can't see it yet, but we believe that
He is moving with a love so deep
Hallelujah for the victory
Good things are coming even when we can't see
We can't see it yet, but we believe that
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don't ever lose hope, hold on and believe (don't ever lose hope)
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet
You're closer than you think you are (yes, you are)
Only moments from the break of dawn (Oh)
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet (oh)
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet (oh)
(You gotta hold on, hold on)
Maybe you just haven't seen it, just haven't seen it yet (oh)
