It was not until we began the drive home that my son spoke about it. He told us that he didn't recognise his friends. I was confused and asked him to explain. He said that he didn't recognise their faces and their clothes. He realised when they began talking and playing who they were.
For some children returning onsite will be very exciting. For others they will be worrying about having forgotten things - teachers names, faces and voices, friends and peers faces and names, where to eat, play and meet parents.

Ephesus Mass
Despite the recent closures, the Ephesus Community were still able to celebrate Mass with Father Denis. It was amazing to see so many Ephesus students jump online for the Mass on Wednesday morning – a real credit to the teachers for remaining focused on what is important to us right now. The theme of the Mass was ‘God Loves Us’ – something we need to remember despite the challenges we face at this time!
First Communion Term 4 Program
The Sacramental Team at St Thomas the Apostle Parish are committed to the preparation of the children who are enrolled for the Term 4 Program for First Holy Communion. The Parish office has emailed all the families involved, regarding the Parent/Child Workshop that is happening on the 3rd and 4th November. If you have enrolled for the program and did not receive Google Meet details, please contact the Parish office to ensure your contact details are correct.
Socktober
Please consider donating old socks and old t-shirts to your respective class teachers. Now is the time to collect them, bag them and send them along with your child when they can return to school. The classes will be turning these unwanted goods into a fun sock-ball for the shoot out event. If this is something you know nothing about, please visit the Socktober website!

Dear Parents
As the roadmap to reopening begins to allow levels of students to return onsite to school, I would like to remind you that some of our pick up options have changed.
Please refer to the attached car diagram
NB: Please note walking school bus will only commence from 3rd November and until then Mackillop Way will be closed.
Car
There will be a single car pick up lane - the one closest to the school office. Teachers will come to find out which students and send a message to the teacher calling students. Can you please have a sign with your child's name so that the name can be easily read by the teacher .
Children will sit in the flagpole area , in the event the weather is bad they will be undercover.
Walk/Park and pick up
We are now able to offer parking in the carpark bays close to Fiorelli street. You can enter via Gate 1 closest to Ferrari Drive (with the car linepick up cars) then turn right into the carpark and find a bay. Parents can then walk to the crossing near the basketball courts.
Parents sadly cannot come on site with current restrictions. Therefore a teacher will be waiting on the island at the end of the car park bays (near crossing) to take the name of the child to be called to meet you at the gate. You will then cross and hopefully the child/ren will meet you quickly.
Please ensure you social distance from other parents and wear a mask.
Children will be seated between the flag pole and basketball court. In wet weather children will be inside the school building and will be called to come and meet you at the gate.
When our new basketball cover is completed (late November now) we will adjust the plan.
It is very important your child/ren know where to wait. Please tell them either CAR (for pick up in the car line) or WALK (for pick up via parent at the gate).
This will help their class teacher to have them in the right location for a smooth pick up.
